Fence Post Mixture®
Osmose®
Fence Post Mixture® paste product, is a refined, black viscous,
ready to use wood preservative.
Uses: For the treatment of wood in contact with the ground, masonry, or
concrete.
Typical applications include:
1) As flashing for structural and buttressing wood in
contact with ground and, or masonry;
2) As a joint preservative for concealed wood joints,
where wood colour is irrelevant;
3) As flashing for the back sides of retaining walls,
board walks, wood edging used for paving stone
driveways;
4) As groundline treatment for utility poles, fence-
posts, high way sign posts, farm fences;
5) As flashing for any wooden foundation where a
black finish is acceptable.
Application: Apply Osmose® Fence Post Mixture® product with a stiff brush to posts and
poles three inches above and ten
inches below the true ground- line area; this is the area most
prone to wood rot. (True groundline is the original
ground level before back-fill). In back-fill situations apply
Osmose® Fence Post Mixture® product three inches above fill
layer and ten inches below the original ground line.
On large surface areas such as a retaining wall
Always cover treated wood with tar paper, polypaper or
other similar abrasion resistant material.
In the case of farm fence posts etc., always debark the
post, then treat the entire post with Pentox® Green wood
preservative product followed by Osmose® Fence Post Mixture®product.
Coverage: 160 square feet per 1US gallon. Wrap treated
area with suitable water-proof membrane material.
Applicator: Stiff brush, or spatula, depending on
surface being treated.
